Patient Resources
Corey T. Beals, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. He is trained in minimally invasive arthroscopic and open surgeries of the knee, shoulder, hip and elbow. His knee focus is primarily on joint preservation, treating a variety of knee problems including meniscus/cartilage injuries, ACL and other ligamentous tears, as well as alignment or kneecap tracking issues. His shoulder focus is not only on soft tissue injuries (rotator cuff tears, labral tears, etc..), but also shoulder arthroplasty (joint replacement), including anatomic, reverse and revision shoulder surgery. He is dedicated to working with each patient to design a treatment plan that best fits their lifestyle and expectations. If surgery is needed, he ensures that optimal technique and rehab are implemented to get the patient back to doing what they love.
Dr. Beals joined Orthopedic ONE from private practice in Asheville, North Carolina, and is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from The Ohio State University, and completed his residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Following residency, he entered active military service with the United States Air Force as an orthopedic surgeon and Squadron Physician for Air Support Operations based in Anchorage, Alaska. Following active duty service, he completed his fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago.
During his time in fellowship, Dr. Beals was Assistant Team Physician to the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Fire, and DePaul University Athletics.
Dr. Beals enjoys being an active participant in both medical and military organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), where he has obtained the distinction of active fellow (fAAOS), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons (SOMOS).
When not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, traveling, music, and all types of sports.
