An Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) is a third-party medical exam conducted by a doctor who specializes in injuries or conditions related to your case. This physician is not involved in your care and has no prior doctor-patient relationship with you.
An IME provides a fair and neutral medical opinion. It helps determine the severity of your injury or condition. These evaluations are often used in workers’ compensation cases, personal injury claims, and disability assessments. The goal is to confirm the accuracy of your diagnosis and clarify how it affects your ability to work or perform daily activities.
