A Patient Story
April 2, 2025, my husband and I arrived at Riverside Methodist Hospital @ 5:20 am. The valet parked our car and directed us to the reception desk. The lady took my information. By the time we were seated the elevator opened, the nurse called my name, and we were on the elevator. I was scheduled for a right total hip replacement surgery. At Riverside Hospital everyone was kind, courteous and concerned about everyone’s needs. The Anesthesiologist gave me an epidural for my surgery. (I wasn’t prepared, I thought I would be out!) But that was Ok, he did a great job! I could hear everything that was going on. Dr Sahai was explaining everything. (I was an open-heart nurse back in the day & could relate to everything.) But it was different from this perspective though. Everything seemed to be done precisely and in order. Everyone was kind, courteous, and concerned about everyone’s needs. After the surgery, they had planned for education in medication, how to use the walker, and everything else needed for home care and treatment. Everyone was so kind! They asked me what I wanted to eat. I told them I was vegan (I thought this would be a problem, but not so…they provided me with a most delicious vegan meal. After arriving home, Dr. Sahai called me several different days postop to see how I was doing. I really appreciated his concern. My experience at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Dr. Sahai and the whole medical staff was fantastic!!
