A Patient Story
I had put off getting my knees examined for far too long. Knee replacement was inevitable after meeting with Dr. Smidt. I had to lose some weight to get my BMI down. Which I did.
We set the surgery date for 4/1. Surgery was a success! My biggest fear going in was the RECOVERY. I had always heard of P-T, P-T, P-T. So, Dr. Smidt’s method of low activity to prevent swelling and pain seemed like a 180-degree reversal of old school philosophy. But, I am 15 days out from surgery, and I have been ASTONISHED by how well I’m feeling and getting around. PLEASE, TRUST THE PROCESS. This guy knows what he’s doing, AND IT WORKS! Do the few home exercises. Limit your step count. Ice & elevate. It gets monotonous and boring. I can tell you, IF YOU STICK WITH THE PLAN AND FOLLOW THE PROTOCOL, you’ll have success!!!! Dr. Smidt and Sarah are WONDERFUL PROFESSIONALS, AND EQUALLY AS GREAT PEOPLE.
