Ronak ‘Ron’ Desai, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained spine surgeon with an emphasis on endoscopic spine surgery, disc replacement and reconstructive spine surgery.
Dr. Desai joined Orthopedic ONE in 2023 from Temple, Texas, where he was Division Director of Spine Surgery at Baylor, Scott & White Health System and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Texas A&M University. Prior he was a practicing physician with EmergeOrtho in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Desai received his undergraduate degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, then earned a master’s degree from Rush University, Chicago, before completing his medical degree at Rush Medical College. He did his residency training at University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University – both in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Desai also completed fellowship training in spine surgery and adult and pediatric deformity and reconstructive spine surgery at Houston Methodist/Texas Medical Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, AO Spine and North American Spine Society (where he actively serves on the Public Affairs Committee).
His interests include golf, hiking, biking and reading.
