Orthopedic ONE: A Year in Service

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the patients, partnerships, and team members who have shaped this year in remarkable ways. Every year brings new opportunities to strengthen the communities we’re privileged to be part of, but this year in particular has shown us just how impactful our Orthopedic ONE team can be.

Community Outreach

This year, our outreach efforts extended far beyond clinic walls as we supported organizations that foster wellness, confidence, and belonging to strengthen the communities we care for every day. As Hilliard Downtown Manager Angela Zody shared, “Orthopedic ONE continues to show what it means to invest in people, not just patients.” That philosophy guided every collaboration in 2025.

We saw this clearly in our long-standing relationship with the City of Hilliard. As Zody further explained, “Orthopedic ONE’s sponsorship allows [the City of Hilliard] to provide engaging programming and resources that encourage seniors to stay active, connected, and involved in community life.” Her perspective reflects a shared vision: “to build a community where people of all ages can thrive.” And, as she noted, wellness extends far beyond physical health; it’s also about creating opportunities for activity, connection, and purpose.

Nowhere was the impact of this collaboration more deeply felt than in our work with Form5. Together, we hosted the inaugural Limb Difference Day, where more than 70 individuals with limb differences came together in a space designed for connection and empowerment. Orthopedic ONE clinicians also proudly contributed to Form5’s CO-FAB Workshop, where adaptive prosthetic solutions are co-designed with participants, ensuring the final product fits their every need. As Form5 Founder Aaron Westbrook shared, Orthopedic ONE volunteers offered “life-changing solutions for individuals with limb differences and other physical limitations.” He also shared a note of gratitude, saying, “Form5 is incredibly grateful for Orthopedic ONE’s continued support and partnership in empowering individuals with limb differences.”

This mission of encouraging community involvement, inclusion, and healthy living extended across the rest of our many 2025 initiatives, including:

  • Pelotonia’s Team Bexley
  • Breakthrough T1D Bike Shop
  • Adaptive Sports Connection
  • Grace Clinic’s Golf Outing
  • SourcePoint Health & Wellness Expo
  • Ohio Senior Olympics
  • Uptown Westerville’s Farmers Market
  • Sundays at Scioto with the Dublin Arts Council
  • Recreation Unlimited’s Flavors of the Vine
  • Canal Winchester’s Wellness Fest
  • Franklin Park Conservatory’s Field to Table
  • Visit Gahanna’s Herb Day
  • And more!

In addition to the contributions made at the practice level, our physician partners individually supported nearly 100 events, organizations, and charitable causes close to their hearts. These efforts span a wide range, from supporting their local churches and schools to participating in nonprofit initiatives, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Alex’s Sunnyside Playroom, the CAPS Foundation, Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, Miracle League of Central Ohio, and more.

Sports Partnerships

In 2025, investing in the next generation of athletes remained a core focus for our sports medicine team. With nearly 30 sports partnerships across basketball, baseball, football, hockey, lacrosse, pickleball, running, soccer, tennis, and volleyball, our reach extended to athletes of all ages and skill levels. Our physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers stood beside youth leagues, high school teams, club programs, adult athletes, and professional competitors.

This year, we were also excited to develop new partnerships with Battery Hockey, Elite Volleyball Training Center, and Pickerington Area Soccer Association, while our long-standing partnerships with organizations like AAA Blue Jackets, Columbus Fury, Club Ohio Soccer, Ohio Premier Soccer Club, and the Resolute Athletic Complex continued to evolve.

Across these partnerships, safety and preparation remained a shared priority. We worked closely with teams and facilities as they implemented the requirements of Ohio House Bill 47, which expanded AED access and established new standards for staff training, emergency planning, and parent education surrounding cardiac arrest awareness. For many organizations, these updates strengthened their confidence in responding to emergencies and helped reinforce a culture of athlete-first care.

This investment was also evident in our work with Elite Volleyball Training Center. Throughout the season, our sports medicine team collaborated with athletes, parents, and coaches to promote injury prevention, manage injury concerns, and guide players through recovery. Club Director and Marketing Coordinator Jackie Cline shared, “With Orthopedic ONE by our side, we can focus on injury prevention.” She noted how having experts readily available helps Elite better understand what athletes need, whether that’s rest, recovery techniques, or modifications to training so players stay strong and healthy.

One athlete’s story captured the heart of this partnership. After injuring her ankle during practice, she was quickly evaluated by the Orthopedic ONE sports medicine team. Cline recalled, “The trainer was able to reassure the athlete that she had a minor sprain and gave her exercises to strengthen her ankle at home.” Within a week, she was safely back on the court.

In every partnership, Orthopedic ONE remains committed to helping athletes stay active, resilient, and playing the sport they love.

Medical Education

Just as we support the athletes and communities we serve, we also invest deeply in the next generation of healthcare professionals. Education has always been central to Orthopedic ONE’s mission. In 2025, our providers and associates dedicated hundreds of hours to teaching, mentoring, and shaping the future of medicine through our affiliations with central Ohio’s leading hospital systems, medical schools, and other community-based programs.

This commitment to expanding knowledge and building confidence was further reflected in our partnership with the OhioHealth Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program, where residents trained alongside Orthopedic ONE physicians across multiple offices and subspecialties. As Dr. Sarah Vengal, Associate Program Director, shared, “Having our residents be able to rotate in various Orthopedic ONE offices has been an invaluable experience to ensure they are learning what high-quality care looks like. It also gives our residents the ability to disseminate knowledge amongst our community.” Her perspective underscores one of our own core beliefs: exposure to thoughtful, patient-centered care shapes the physicians who will one day lead it.

This is mirrored across our partnerships with Mount Carmel, Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Columbus Medical Association (CMA), as Orthopedic ONE supported programming that leads the next generation of medical students, and creates brighter futures for patients across Central Ohio. CMA’s Lynn Manoogian explained the impact this has on the local healthcare community clearly: “Their 100% membership helps drive many CMA initiatives, including engaging Central Ohio medical students, advancing physician advocacy, promoting physician well-being and support, and empowering women in medicine.”

Other Orthopedic ONE educational initiatives took several forms throughout the year. At the Medical Student Specialty Fair, physicians volunteered to represent the orthopedic and sports medicine specialty, helping students better understand the demands, rewards, and pathways within. Through CMA’s Emerging Trends Program, our team supported local physicians navigating how to remain independent in an evolving medical landscape. And, during quarterly practice manager meetings, we sponsored conversations on new and changing clinical practices, ensuring that the teams behind patient care remain informed, prepared, and connected. By teaching today, we’re helping build a healthier tomorrow, one future caregiver, clinician, and leader at a time.

Advocacy

While much of our work happens in clinics, operating rooms, athletic facilities, and community spaces, another critical part happens behind the scenes, in board meetings, state committees, legislative conversations, and national leadership groups committed to protecting patient safety and expanding access to high-quality orthopedic care.

In 2025, our physicians and administrators played key roles in helping shape a stronger, safer healthcare landscape across Ohio and beyond. One example of that leadership can be seen in the work of Dr. Jonathan Feibel, who, as President of the Ohio State Medical Board, supported the passage of Senate Bill 109, which is designed to reinforce patient protections statewide and hold medical professionals accountable. His efforts reflect Orthopedic ONE’s long-standing belief that clinical excellence must be paired with thoughtful policy leadership, because lasting change happens when the people caring for patients also help shape the systems that affect them.

On a national level, Orthopedic ONE continued its work with The OrthoForum, a leading organization dedicated to protecting and advocating for the future of independent orthopedic practices across the United States. “Specifically,” notes OrthoForum CEO, Karen Simonton, “Orthopedic ONE leaders shared plans and presentations at OrthoForum meetings, enabling members (150+ MSK groups coast to coast) to learn from Orthopedic ONE’s practices and leadership.” Their efforts demonstrate our shared belief that “physicians working directly with patients can make healthcare more accessible, affordable and responsive,” a goal we’re proud to work towards, explains Simonton.

Across each of these efforts, the goal is simply to protect the integrity of patient care. Whether advancing statewide safety standards, guiding community sports programs through new legislation, or defending the independence of orthopedic practices, advocacy ensures that patient needs, not corporate interests, remain at the center of healthcare.

What Matters Most

Reflecting on 2025, one thing is clear: our impact is greatest when we work together. Across every initiative, we saw the difference collaboration can make, and we are continually inspired by the organizations that trust us to be part of their mission.

We are deeply grateful to the partners who welcomed us into their events, the patients and families who came to us for care, and the physicians, associates, and volunteers who brought these efforts to life each day.
