Orthopedic ONE breaks ground on new Westerville headquarters

COLUMBUS, OHIO (October 18, 2020) – This month, Orthopedic ONE, Ohio’s largest physician-owned orthopedic practice, broke ground on its planned headquarters in Westerville’s expanding “medical mile”.

The estimated $24 million, 80,000 square-foot facility will feature four floors, including centralized business operations for the sprawling practice, clinical space to accommodate 12 physicians across all orthopedic specialties, physical and occupational therapy, and MRI services. It will house more than 200 associates, including those added or relocated.

Future site of Orthopedic ONE headquarters

The project was announced in October 2019 with plans to start construction in the first quarter of 2020; however, the pandemic delayed this timeline. While concerns regarding COVID-19 and its impact linger, demand for orthopedic care is growing and the group believes it’s time to continue efforts to centralize its business operations and expand access within the region. The new location is anticipated to open in Spring 2023.

“After a challenging year, we are eager to pick up where we left off with efforts to increase access to care for our existing patients and meet both current and projected demand for orthopedic services in Westerville and surrounding communities,” says Tim Smith, CEO, Orthopedic ONE. “More patients trust us with their orthopedic care than any other practice in central Ohio. Earning that trust means we must always consider opportunities to improve the quality and delivery of care to our patients. Our new facility in Westerville is an important step.”

Consolidating much of its administrative functions at this new office will free up space at other Orthopedic ONE facilities for increased clinical capacity. Eventually, the group plans to vacate its current Westerville office on Cleveland Avenue.

“We’re proud that Orthopedic ONE has chosen to grow its corporate presence in the City of Westerville, with the construction of its new headquarters and expansion of its top-rated orthopedic practice,” says Rachel Ray, economic development director, City of Westerville. “The company selected the perfect site. It’s located strategically in the amenity-rich Westar area with access to a highly talented medical and professional workforce. The company also joins nearly a dozen premier healthcare providers along the City’s Medical Mile, which is the most comprehensive cluster of accessible health care facilities in Central Ohio.”

Columbus’ Daimler Group, Inc. is the developer with design by Moody Nolan, Inc.

Orthopedic ONE currently boasts nine locations in central Ohio, including offices in Canal Winchester, Delaware, Dublin, Gahanna/Reynoldsburg, Grove City, Hilliard, Powell, Upper Arlington, and Westerville.
