Orthopedic ONE Names Chief Operating Officer

Ohio’s largest physician-owned orthopedic practice, Orthopedic ONE, is pleased to welcome Paul Smith, MBA, as its Chief Operating Officer effective April 6, 2026.

“In today’s healthcare landscape, it’s rare and refreshing to find a large, independent practice where decisions are still made locally by engaged physicians. I was drawn to the idea of working for an organization that prioritizes clinical excellence and puts the patient—rather than corporate metrics—at the center of every conversation,” shares Smith on his decision to join Orthopedic ONE.

Smith comes to the practice from Johnson Memorial Health in Franklin, Indiana, where he served as Vice President of Physician Services. He brings with him extensive experience leading multispecialty physician groups in both inpatient and outpatient service lines in both hospital and outpatient settings.

He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University – and has served as adjunct professor in the Master of Health Administration Program at the Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership at University of St. Francis.

Smith’s other notable positions include Regional Director at Munson Healthcare supporting a 140-provider team across 35 clinic locations throughout Traverse City, Michigan, and Vice President of Primary Care at Parkview Health leading a 250-member primary care group with 63 clinic locations in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

“We look forward to benefitting from Paul’s reputation as a leader with success uniting cross-functional teams toward a common goal and the highest level of patient care,” says Mark D’Aloisio, Orthopedic ONE CEO. “His experience driving improvements in market share, patient access, physician recruitment and patient satisfaction will help us further our mission as central Ohio’s largest and most trusted orthopedic practice.”
